Taylor Sheridan's much-loved Yellowstone spin-off, Dutton Ranch, has officially been renewed for a second season. The neo-Western drama stars Kelly Reilly as Beth Dutton and Cole Hauser as Rip Wheeler, who venture to Texas in search of a new start.

Season One is currently approaching its fiery conclusion, with the penultimate episode airing on Friday, June 26th. The grand finale is then released the following Friday (July 3rd).

So far - without giving too much away for those who haven't watched it yet - Beth and Rip's purchase of a new ranch in the Lone Star State in pursuit of some peace and quiet has led to a host of complications. With frenemies - and, indeed, full-blown enemies - over at the 10-Petal Ranch adding to the chaos, the first season has been a rip-roaring, spellbinding continuation of the Yellowstone narrative.

In a statement, Jane Wiseman, Head of Originals for Paramount+, underlines her excitement for another dose of Dutton Ranch, “Beth and Rip are among the most iconic duos in television history and we are thrilled to bring a whole new world to life with Dutton Ranch for our subscribers around the world. We’re also incredibly grateful to our partners, including the teams at Paramount Television Studios and 101 Studios, for bringing this new series to life with such grit, heart and authenticity”.

Matt Thunell, President of Paramount Television Studios, emphasises, “Dutton Ranch has resonated with audiences in a powerful way, building on the legacy of beloved characters, while establishing its own identity,. Thank you to our partners at Paramount+ and 101 Studios for a phenomenal first season. We look forward to bringing fans more stories from these unforgettable characters in Season Two”.

It's certainly true that Dutton Ranch has proven one of the most popular Yellowstone spin-offs to date, with the opening two episodes earning the biggest series premiere on cable since 2023. In addition, it became the biggest original series debut since the start of Paramount+, with 12.9 million viewers globally in its first week.

It follows in a similar vein to the original Yellowstone series, rather than exploring a new format in the way that Marshals - which stars Luke Grimes as Kayce Dutton - has. It's been one of our favourite instalments in the Yellowstone universe (bar, of course, the brilliant prequel, 1883), and we can't wait for more soon.
