Kacey Musgraves has teased further details of her forthcoming new album with a video entitled ‘My Saturn Has Returned…” during the Grammy Awards on Sunday night.
After the country singer teased new music on Saturday with nine caption-less posts of her lying naked in a green field, she released a full commercial for new music during the 66th annual Grammy Awards, as she got back to nature with a cryptic video and three socials posts that gave further clues to the new project.
According to the UK Store on the singer’s website, the album is set for March 15th.
“I’m saying goodbye to the people that I feel are real good at wasting my time,” she captioned the first post on socials alongside a photo of her holding an acoustic guitar. “No regrets, baby, I just think that maybe you go your way and I’ll go mine. ”
“It’s been a real good time,” she added to the next post of some sheep in a field. “But, you’ve got dark energy, something I can’t unsee and I’ve got to take care of myself..”
The last post is a video of the commercial that she teased during the Grammy awards on Sunday night. The teaser begins with the singer walking over a grassy hill in a long white dress with a flock of geese. In the next scene, she is standing in a black coat with three horses, followed by another moment of her sitting in the grass in a maroon velvet floral embroidered dress with a kestrel on her shoulder.
One scene also shows the singer sitting with a yellow notebook in front of a fake backdrop of leaves and moss with the New York skyline in the background.
She’s seen writing the lyrics to the verse of a song in the notebook, marked by the letters “V1” in a notebook. The lyrics are similar to the text “No regrets, baby, I just think that maybe you go your way and I’ll go mine,” but with an extra line “I’m getting rid of the…”
The rest of the video shows several clips of the singer riding a horse, running across the mountainside with a blue sash, turning to look at the camera with a pink ribbon in her hair, shooing some birds and holding her hands up to the sunlight.
“My saturn has returned,” she sings at the end of the clip.
The clip has the words “I found a deeper well…” alongside it, which - along with an image of a four point compass wheel with the letters “K M D W” on that is now her social media avatar - suggest that the album or single might be titled “Deeper Well.”
This will be the first full Kacey Musgraves release since Star-Crossed in 2021, although the singer has recently collaborated with Noah Kahan and Zach Bryan, leading some to think the album may be a return to her country roots.
Although she recently covered Bob Marley's 'Three Little Birds' as well, so by that logic it could also be a reggae album.
