“It Sounds Awesome”: Morgan Wallen Shares Update On New Music

Morgan Wallen has taken to his Instagram Stories for the first time in months to offer fans an update on a range of topics, from new music to his collaboration with Moneybagg Yo.

The Sneedville megastar recorded the video from his truck, with Morgan confirming he's spent the last few days recording in the studio, as well as teasing “plenty more” songs to come following his long-awaited fan-favourite, ‘Lies, Lies, Lies’, on July 4th.

The ‘Last Night’ hitmaker begins the clip by sharing, “What's going on, everybody? I've been in the studio for the past couple of days, and I was just thinking I haven't been on here to let y'all know or give y'all an update in a long time. So here I am!”

Morgan goes on to give viewers a summary of what he's been up to in recent weeks, aside from working on his new album, “I've really just been hanging with my kid, making music, golfing, swimming, but mostly just laying low and staying out of trouble”.

While we always appreciate a check-in from Morgan Wallen, the part of the video that will pique fans’ interest the most is when he touches on the prospect of new releases.

The ‘Thought You Should Know’ singer-songwriter hints there's an array of song on the way, as well as revealing he loves how the project is coming together, “I'm really excited for y'all to hear the new music, it sounds awesome. ‘Lies Lies Lies’ is coming out real soon, I'm excited for that one, and I got plenty more in the pipeline”.

Following this, Morgan Wallen casts his gaze ahead at his keenly anticipated One Night At A Time World Tour double-header at the US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota, outlining how much he's “looking forward to playing in Minneapolis this week”.

In addition, Morgan Wallen offered some insight into how his viral new genre-blending collaboration with Moneybagg Yo, ‘WHISKEY WHISKEY’ - which features an electrifying rap verse packed with eye-catching innuendos from Morgan - arose, “The new song with Moneybagg seems to be doing really well. We wrote that song, shoot, over two years ago, and finally got the chance to put it out so I'm glad to see that's still reacting and still sounding fresh a couple of years later”.

The star-studded link-up was first teased back in 2021, seemingly shortly after Morgan Wallen and Moneybagg Yo penned the track, with fans having to wait until June 14th before they got to hear the full version as part of the latter's SPEAK NOW album.

Thankfully, judging by his comments in this new Instagram video, it looks like we won't have to wait quite as long before hearing more new music from Morgan, and we're keeping our fingers crossed he decides to follow-up ‘Lies, Lies, Lies’ - which will arrive on the same day as his momentous BST Hyde Park show in London, UK - by releasing other viral tracks such as ‘I Guess’ and ’Love Somebody’.
