Country-rock maverick HARDY has received two 2023 CMT Awards nominations for his bewitching, cinematic duet with Lainey Wilson, ‘wait in the truck’.
The music video, which offers a modern-day spin on the classic country murder ballad format, has been nominated for both Video of the Year and Collaborative Video of the Year.
The timing couldn't be more perfect for HARDY and Lainey Wilson, with the dynamic duo having recently announced that they'll be heading out on an arena tour together this fall.
Their ‘wait in the truck’ collaboration has been a key marker-post in both artists’ careers, with HARDY and Lainey having since gone on to emerge as two of the leading voices in modern country.
The tour, which kicks off in August, will also be supported by Georgia's up-and-comer, Dylan Marlowe.
Fans will be excited to hear the duet on their fall arena tour, while 2023 CMT Awards viewers will be hoping that HARDY and Lainey might team up for a live rendition of the track during the ceremony in April.
They've previously joined forces to perform ‘wait in the truck’ on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
Lainey Wilson has received more nominations than any artist for this year's CMT Awards, while HARDY's label-mate, Morgan Wallen, has also picked up a nod for his fiery, beat-driven track, ‘Wasted On You’.
The 2023 CMT Awards are due to take place on April 2 and will air live from Texas’ Moody Center on CBS.
The hosting duties will be taken care of by Kelsea Ballerini and Kane Brown, both of whom also find themselves on the nominations list.
