HARDY's new rock-inspired sound may lend itself to guitar-smashing and antagonistic behaviour - but few would have expected to see him combining the two in the wrestling ring on WWE Raw last night.
In the first WWE Raw event of the year, Elias and Solo Sikoa were battling it out, with the latter taking charge for much of the night.
Partway through the spectacle, HARDY, who was seated in the front row, attempted to pass the struggling Elias a guitar to help him retaliate.
The move didn't work out, however, and another guitar was then - somewhat conveniently - left at HARDY's end of the ring. A while later, in a dramatic, crowd-pleasing move, the Mississippi country star decided to leap into the ring and grab the guitar.
He proceeded to smash the instrument onto Solo Sikoa's back, prompting...well, not much of a response at all, in truth. Hilariously, Sikoa turned slowly to the ‘One Beer’ hitmaker, and HARDY subsequently held up his hands and scurried out of the ring.
It's a moment of unexpected theatre that WWE has become synonymous with in recent years.
HARDY's appearance serves as a precursor to his January 28 performance at the 2023 WWE Royal Rumble, which will take place at the Alamodome in San Antone, Texas.
HARDY will be playing ‘SOLD OUT’, which will feature on his upcoming album, the mockingbird & THE CROW.
The intense, metal-tinged track has been chosen as the official theme song for the 2023 Royal Rumble, and will no doubt help to amp up the energy levels inside the Alamodome.
It won't be HARDY's first WWE performance, as the maverick singer-songwriter previously played a set during WWE Tribute to the Troops 2020, an event that was restricted by COVID-19.
As HARDY outlined in a recent interview for WWE, he's looking forward to performing in front of a live, in-house audience, as opposed to the sea of screens that he was faced with for his 2020 show.
We're sure that HARDY's set will be absolutely smashing.
