It looks like Gavin Adcock is not familiar with the famous old saying that you should “let sleeping dogs lie”, with Adcock reigniting his feud with Zach Bryan via social media.
Adcock has shared a photo of his almost-altercation with Bryan in Oklahoma last year, when the latter famously scaled a fence to try and start a fight with the ‘Need To’ hitmaker.
In the caption, Adcock amusingly promotes his new song, ’Wannabe’, by referencing how keen Bryan was to provoke him, “How bad this song wants to come out on Friday”.
It comes shortly after Bryan shared a couple of responses to fans on X, criticising them and labelling them as ‘Karens’ (i.e. entitled) for asking for refunds to his recent Nebraska show. Bryan was forced to cut the set short due to inclement weather.
Adcock wasted no time in replying to Bryan, commenting, “Still don't know how to treat fans”. When a Zacholyte asked him what happened when he threatened to fight him at Oklahoma's Born & Raised Festival last year, Adcock dryly responded, “I took my fat paycheck and played for 20k of his hometown fans. That's what happened”.
Then, on X, Adcock waded into arguments with a number of Bryan fans as they claimed he was seeking attention by dropping Bryan's name, sharing clap-backs such as “I’m just gonna...clown this guy cause he likes to treat normal folks like they’re trash”, “I love clowning ZB fans. They’re just as pathetic as he is” and “Oh you’re one of those Zach Bryan meat riders?? That makes a whole lot of sense. Beta fans”.
Adcock has never shied away from fiery comments sections or online debates regarding him and Bryan. It seems the ‘Something in the Orange’ singer-songwriter has been trying to move on from the apparent beef, but Adcock won't let him forget it.
Adcock's main gripe has always been the way in which Bryan treats his fans. Their feud first started when Adcock lambasted Bryan for not taking the time to sign an autograph for a 14-year-old fan after a show, and then telling that fan online to ‘get off my d***’.
Given the seemingly inflammatory title of Adcock's new song, ‘Wannabe’, fans are now wondering if that track is directed at Bryan, perhaps donning him a ‘wannabe’ country boy.
We suspect the song itself is not directly inspired by Bryan, and that Adcock is simply - and cleverly - using the title as a reason to use the dispute as part of the promotion. Either way, the anticipation is sky-high ahead of ‘Wannabe’s arrival this Friday.
