Garth Brooks’ mysterious website countdown is set to end on Tuesday, July 7th at 7am, with fans speculating that it could be a 2026 Sphere Las Vegas residency, a new album, or that Garth will finally be releasing his catalogue to streaming platforms.

The reason that, at the time of writing, the Las Vegas residency theory is gaining the most traction online is the fact that the countdown concludes at 7am on 7/7 - i.e. 777.

This feels like a nod to the famous slot machines of Vegas, and with Garth having a strong history of performing in the Nevada city, it feels like this could be the likeliest option.

Sphere does, as many online have pointed out, have a glaring gap in their calendar this December around the time that the NFR rodeo takes place in Las Vegas. Last year, Sphere welcomed Zac Brown Band for a country residency in tandem with the NFR being in town, and it would certainly make sense for them to do the same with Garth this December. The ‘Rodeo’ hitmaker undoubtedly has a wealth of cowboy-themed anthems that would resonate with fans already in Vegas for NFR.

However, if we're being honest, our hot take is that Garth might actually just be gearing up to unveil another of his CD boxsets. The Oklahoma native has released an array of these ‘Anthology’ boxsets in recent years, with his latest being The Anthology Part VI: The Comeback – The Next Five Years. We reckon that the whole ‘777’ symbolism could simply be teasing the 7th instalment of The Anthology.

What's more, Garth previously released a 7-CD, 77-track boxset called 777 Jackpost commemorating his Las Vegas residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in June 2024. Maybe this new boxset could be a sequel to that 777 Jackpot boxset.

Now, the tagline of the countdown - The Future is About to Become History - is undoubtedly cryptic, and has been interpreted by some fans to be a clue that he's dropping new music.

At the same time, this could just be a hint that he'll be looking back at his storied history with this announcement, through another instalment in his nostalgic Anthology series.

Some have been excitedly speculating that the ‘Friends in Low Places’ chart-topper may be sharing his full catalogue to streaming platforms like Spotify and Apple Music. For the past ten years, Garth has had an exclusive deal with Amazon Music, meaning his discography has - to many fans’ annoyance - not been available to stream on their platform of choice. Given the fact that it will be ten years since he first inked that Amazon deal in October 2026, could he be about to share his music more widely for the first time? It's undoubtedly a tantalising prospect, but has no tie-in with the whole ‘777’ imagery, so we don't think this is it.

Another fan-theory being put forward across social media is that Garth could be readying a World Tour announcement. Last month, he performed to a record-breaking crowd of around 70,000 at London's BST Hyde Park, and he confirmed during that colossal show that he regretted waiting 30 years in-between his UK shows.

However, while a World Tour would be welcome, it feels one of the more far-fetched suggestions. Again, there's no tie-in with the date and time of ‘777’, so we think the leading options are either the Anthony Part VII, or a new Las Vegas residency, potentially at Sphere. Ultimately, we'll have to wait until he makes the official announcement at 7am on July 7th. And who knows? Perhaps Garth will surprise us...
