Fans are speculating that two of the biggest - if not the biggest - names in country music, Morgan Wallen and Lainey Wilson, might have a blockbuster collaboration on the way.

The rumours have started swirling as a result of a cryptic comment Morgan Wallen has shared to his Instagram Story, which reads, “I guess Country's Cool Now”.

A number of followers have taken this to be a subtle reference to Lainey Wilson's 2024 tour and her much-loved unreleased song of the same name, ‘Country's Cool Again’.

Others have taken Morgan Wallen's apparent reference to Lainey Wilson's unreleased track as a jibe, following the latter's triumph over the ‘Last Night’ hitmaker at the 2023 CMA Awards.

During the spectacular ceremony, Lainey took home the most coveted accolade of the evening, 2023 CMA Entertainer of the Year, an award many were expecting Morgan to win.

However, given the fact that Lainey Wilson will be joining Morgan Wallen out on the road next year as part of his One Night At A Time tour, and that Lainey has been commenting on Morgan's posts lately, it looks like there's no animosity between the two.

Does this mean Morgan Wallen could be a surprise guest vocalist on Lainey Wilson's ‘Country's Cool Again’? Or perhaps the two artists have a different collaboration up their sleeves?

Given the virtually unrivalled star power of these two country music heavyweights, if Morgan Wallen and Lainey Wilson do collide on a track, this would surely produce one of the most seismic, chart-busting moments in the genre in recent memory.
