Ella Langley has secured her second UK Country Radio Airplay Chart No. 1, with her much-loved ode to living life on the road, ‘weren't for the wind’, taking the top spot for the latest tracking period (April 18th to 24th). Langley previously hit No. 1 in July 2024, with her blockbuster Riley Green duet, ‘You Look Like You Love Me’.

‘weren't for the wind’ serves as one of the many stand-outs from Langley's still hungover deluxe record, which arrived in November. It finds the ‘Nicotine’ crooner reflecting on the settled-down life she might have led in another universe, if it wasn't for her yearning to chase the sunset and follow the freedom of the wind.

The track amasses an impressive tally of 678,386 this week, narrowly beating out competition from Kane Brown's rose-tinted earworm, ‘Backseat Driver’, which ends on 665,890.

The Top Five is completed by Eric Church's ‘Hands Of Time’, Jordan Davis’ ‘Bar None’ and Megan Moroney's ‘Am I Okay?’ at No. 3, 4 and 5 respectively. Given the fact that Davis spent a whopping nine weeks at the pinnacle with his previous single, ‘I Ain't Sayin’, we suspect it won't be long before the uptempo ‘Bar None’ hits No. 1.

The biggest mover this week is Jackson Dean's ‘Heavens to Betsy’, which surges 208% to land at No. 35. The soulful track will have no doubt received an added boost courtesy of the fact that Dean is currently performing on this side of The Pond.

There are a handful of new entries on the UK Country Radio Airplay Chart during this tracking period, including Morgan Wallen and Post Malone's ‘I Ain't Comin‘ Back’ (No. 8), Turnpike Troubadours’ ‘Searching For A Light’ (No. 30), Ian Munsick and Lainey Wilson's ‘Feather in My Hat’ (No. 37) and Jackson Dean's ’Train’ (No. 38).
