Ella Langley has just received five new certifications in the eyes of the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

Along with chart-topper 'Choosin Texas,' which has just finished its 6th run in platinum certification, Langley hits such as 'Girl You're Taking Home,' 'That's Why We Fight,' 'Excuse The Mess,' and 'Never Met Anyone Like You,' have also achieved various feats that have earned her platinum and gold titles.

The RIAA bestows multiple artists with its prestigious gold, multi-platinum, and diamond certifications based on streaming and sale units in the U.S. With 6 million units now achieved on her hit 'Choosin Texas,' which we can only assume are a major reflection of the song's massive success on U.S. streaming charts, the hit single from her second studio 'Dandelion' album sees yet another platinum certification.

Surely another impressive accomplishment for Langley, as this milestone can take, on average, a mainstream artist such as herself 1-3 years to see - but when 'Choosin Texas' was first released, Langley herself wasn't exactly mainstream. The song that cemented Langley in country music history and defied the status quo of when an artist typically receives a certification such as this, will undoubtedly continue to reach new heights.

Another tune of Langley's, 'Girl You're Taking Home,' has reached platinum status for the first time. Fresh off her debut 2024 Still Hungover album, the song acts as the 15th track to the record. While the song saw a brief week on charts such as the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at No. 92, the fan engagement is what really brought the song to new heights.

Authentic and heartbreaking as ever, 'Girl You're Taking Home' sings of the emotional turmoil of being caught within the weird middle of her lover's preferences - good enough to call at night, but not good enough to take home. While he has another woman in his life, whom he regularly does the things that Langley wishes he would do with her, Langley relates back to her own real-life heartbreak.

Langley's 'That's Why We Fight' saw a platinum certification as well, the duet with Koe Wetzel reaching its first set of 1 million units. The song was released as the fourth track to her 2023 Excuse The Mess EP and saw its first Gold certification in 2025. In this time, both Wetzel and Langley were up and coming, the song drawing in more traction after the artists cemented themselves deeper as some of the biggest names in today's country. Like 'Girl You're Taking Home,' this is a song of Langley's that received all the benefits from the massive successes of her 2026 Dandelion record.

The song is about the deep, passionate connection that two people can share, and how this can sometimes reveal itself in the form of conflict. As arguments and clashing between the two rear its ugly head, the lovers realize why this intensity keeps them engaged with one another - and how it keeps them entangled in one another.

The title track from her 2023 EP, 'Excuse The Mess' has just joined the club of songs under RIAA certifications with its first 500,000 units sold since release. A part of Langley's singular lone EP, the song foreshadowed a theme the 'Country Boy's Dream Girl' crooner would explore for years to come: a sense of imperfection with the guts to admit it. After release, the 'Excuse The Mess' single and EP would set the stage for her debut 2024 Hungover album, growing in popularity through social media and a fan aptness to check out Langley's early beginnings in her discography.

As we've mentioned, the light the song shines on imperfection, and being bold enough to admit that, shows a sense of authenticity Langley has always been keen to explore. Here, she sings of a potential love interest she has met in a time where she's getting herself together, trying to foster both the want and the action of becoming her best self. Langley's musical and writing collaborations with singer-songwriter HARDY have been one that this writer is always ready to explore - with Langley's natural talent, as well as HARDY's wit that flows from every pen he holds, the two have collaborated on multiple hits together that have earned them both career milestones, such as the 2026 'Be Her' single - which has Langley's genuineness and HARDY's cleverness all over it.

That's why when their 2025 'Never Met Anyone Like You' single made its way to the RIAA's list with a gold certification, it felt both long awaited and well deserved. While the track didn't enter the Billboard Hot 100, it did appear on charts such as the U.S. Hot 100, the U.K. Country Airplay, and the Canada Hot 100 - and further explored true wit in country music, causing Langley and HARDY to cement themselves deeper into their brand and what they bring to Nashville songwriting.

'Never Met Anyone Like You' starts out as a love song - it shows true affections for another person, and delves into feelings of admiration, or truly being in awe of another person's state of being. Then, it hits: Langley and HARDY give the hook, "never met anyone like you," a double meaning. The same person Langley was in awe of turned out to be not who she thought he was, revealing a sense of betrayal and disbelief at what he's done in the bitter end of their relationship.

These five new certifications are another historic staple of country music in 2026, or what us at Holler like to call "The year of Ella Langley." Her year of smashing success has brought her songs of all different phases in her career to new heights, opening doors these tracks were yet to see.
