Ella Langley has taken to socials to tease a brand new unreleased song, which appears to be titled, ‘I've Never Met Anyone Like You’, with the ‘you look like you love me’ hitmaker performing an acoustic snippet of the lovestruck track alongside her guitarist.
While we've become accustomed to hearing evocative, post-break-up anthems from the Alabama native, in the mould of ‘paint the town blue’ and ‘girl you're taking home’, as well as fiery, free-spirited earworms such as the viral ‘weren't for the wind’, on ‘I've Never Met Anyone Like You’, Langley offers a more rose-tinted portrayal of love.
It follows in a similarly romantic vein to ‘you look like you love me’, but the tongue-in-cheek swagger is replaced by endearing sincerity, as Ella Langley croons across the warm strum, “Darlin’, you're on in a million / God couldn't do it again if He tried to”.
Inevitably, given the speculation and rumours that swirl relentlessly around Ella Langley, Riley Green and Megan Moroney, some fans have wasted no time in suggesting ‘I've Never Met Anyone Like You’ could be a love letter from Langley directed at Green.
This feels like a big leap, and we think it's simply a sweet, charming reflection on what it feels like to be in the throes of affection. Given the stormy ambience that permeates much of her catalogue, it's refreshing to see Langley exploring this joyful ambience.
This serves as our first taste of new music from the 2025 ACM New Female Artist of the Year since November's still hungover deluxe project, with the arrival of this new snippet seemingly signifying the start of Ella Langley's next musical chapter.
We're hoping we don't have to wait too long before we get to hear the full studio version of ‘I've Never Met Anyone Like You’, with the ‘nicotine’ crooner continuing to cement herself as one of the leading figures in the modern country landscape.
