Did Noah Kahan Just Share the First Snippet of His ‘Hunger Games’ Song?

Noah Kahan has shared what many fans believe to be the first clip of his Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping song via his secret The Last of the Bugs TikTok account.

The Vermont used this burner account extensively during the rollout for his 2026 album, The Great Divide: The Last Of The Bugs, with Kahan returning to the page in recent weeks.

First, he shared a clip of himself against what looked to be a sunrise, with the cryptic caption, “the birds sound louder than the bugs tonight”, widely interpreted as a reference to the previous Hunger Games prequel, The Ballad Of Songbirds and Snakes.

Now, Kahan has shared a video of a meadow filled with dandelions, with some haunting, ethereal music playing over it. As Hunger Games aficionados know, the dandelion is a recurring symbol throughout the original series, with the author, Suzanne Collins, regularly using the flower to represent resilience, rebirth and hope.

As well as being a key motif symbolising Katniss’ bond with Peeta throughout the Hunger Games series, in the final book, Collins writes from Katniss’ view, “What I need is the dandelion in the spring. The bright yellow that means rebirth instead of destruction. The promise that life can go on, no matter how bad our losses”.

Kahan has been linked with the Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping film for months now, with reports first emerging last year that he was in talks to be on the soundtrack.

The new film arrives in November 2026, with Kahan's song expected to be the lead single from the soundtrack. In the past, the music accompanying each movie has been folk-leaning, making the ‘Stick Season’ singer-songwriter feel like the perfect choice.

Just recently, during an interview at the 2026 Emmys in Los Angeles, California, Kahan teased that he'd been presented with the opportunity to do something with a film, with many fans assuming this to be a reference to his Hunger Games involvement. With these teasers becoming more frequent, it feels like an official announcement regarding Sunrise on the Reaping soundtrack is imminent.
