If you didn't know the name Connor Daly before, that ends today. The 25-year-old Virginia native just dropped his debut album, Colors Fade, a collection of lived-in tunes about love, heartache and the hues of emotion that shade our lives.
The dozen-track release marks a long time coming for the singer-songwriter, who has, for years, been honing his song-spinning craft and learning the delicate ins and outs of live performance. What has resulted is an album full of honest and intuitive songs, many stripped bare to let their gripping words take hold.
The project features previously released singles 'You in Tennessee', the Mary Heather Hickman-assisted 'Fake One Tear' and 'Ain’t Got A Cape.' The latter came equipped with a cinematic music video, in which Daly plays a brokenhearted man following the tragic loss of a loved one.
Daly flexes his skills across the entire release, deftly traversing weighty themes and artfully weaving personal experiences into striking sing-alongs that not only resonate but seem to understand.
Colors Fade is out now. The artist will be celebrating the release with a special show at Nashville's Hutton Hotel on Saturday (July 27).
