Following a Thursday night (April 4) performance at Dierks Bentley’s Whiskey Row in Gilbert, Arizona, Colt Ford suffered a heart attack.
The country rap artist – best know for his 2008 song ‘Dirt Road Anthem’, made popular by Jason Aldean – is currently undergoing treatment in the Intensive Care Unit at the Banner Desert Medical Center in nearby Mesa, Arizona. No further updates have been given on his condition.
The 54-year-old Georgia native was in the midst of a lengthy spring-summer tour, one that would see him criss-crossing the United States through late August. It has not yet been confirmed whether forthcoming dates, including tonight's (April 5) show at Nevada's Primm Valley Casino Resorts, will be rescheduled.
The North American trek was in support of Ford's 2023 full-length release Must Be The Country, a 24-track project featuring appearances from Tracy Lawrence, Tracy Byrd, Brantley Gilbert and more. The album came to be while the artist was battling eye cancer and an autoimmune disease known as Myasthenia Gravis, which affects the face muscles.
