Cody Jinks has released his first single since 2022, ‘Outlaws and Mustangs’, with fans hoping this is a sign the Texas native is gearing up to release a brand new album.
Jink’ anthemic, rock-tinged track serves as a celebration of all those who follow their own path, regardless of any criticism or negativity they draw along the way.
It's a cri-de-coeur that Cody Jinks has stood by throughout his career, with the ‘Must Be The Whiskey’ songsmith priding himself on being one of the most successful independent artists in his space.
‘Outlaws and Mustangs’ finds Jinks crooning across a sea of emphatic electric guitars, with the motivational earworm of a hook ensuring the track has become an immediate fan-favourite.
Although Cody Jinks often describes himself as an outlaw, the new single is directed towards a lover who has decided to pursue her dreams (“You ain't leaving me worried, you were born to roam / The thing about outlaws and mustangs, they always come home”).
Despite there being no official word yet on Cody Jinks’ follow-up to 2021's Mercy, it seems ‘Outlaws and Mustangs’ will be the lead single from the singer-songwriter's upcoming record.
