Country superstar and multi Grammy winner Chris Stapleton has taken a joyful detour this week straight to Sesame Street.
In a brand new episode of the beloved children’s series, Stapleton joins Elmo, Abby, Bert, and the rest of the Sesame Street crew to share a little wisdom and a whole lot of heart.
Together, they perform an original song titled, ‘You’ve Got a Friend in Music’, a sweet and soulful tune that celebrates the unifying power of music. And frankly? The track wouldn’t feel out of place on his lauded 2020 studio album, Starting Over.
With his signature raspy vocals and gently rolling acoustic melody, Stapleton delivers a performance that’s as authentic as it is adorable. The song leans into his warmth, offering not only children, but us all a gentle reminder that music is more than just catchy tunes or sounds - its comfort, connection, and friendship.
It’s not Stapleton's first foray into unexpected collaborations, but this one might be his most wholesome one yet. ‘You’ve Got a Friend in Music’ shows it's the simplest truths that hit the hardest - especially when sung in harmony with the Sesame Street crew.
