‘I Hope You’re Happy Now’ by Carly Pearce and Lee Brice has won the ACM Award for Musical Event of the Year.
The song, written by Pearce, Luke Combs, Randy Montana and Jonathan Singleton, was the last project producer busbee completed before his death.
Pearce and Brice will perform the song at the Academy of Country Music Awards on Sunday night.
‘I Hope You’re Happy Now’, which draws on Pearce’s personal experiences, was championed over star-studded collaborations such as Keith Urban and P!nk’s ‘One Too Many’ and Thomas Rhett, Reba McEntire, Hillary Scott, Chris Tomlin and Keith Urban’s ‘Be A Light’.
Pearce, who just released her new record 29, is also nominated for Female Artist of the Year.
The Academy of Country Music Awards will be broadcast from three iconic music venues in Nashville: The Grand Ole Opry House, The Ryman Auditorium and The Bluebird Cafe, on Sunday April 18th.
