After teasing the release over the past few weeks, Brandon Lake is finally making the first capsule from his Awendaw Farms merchandise range available on Friday, October 23rd.

But don't mistake this for a typical new line of artist merch, designed to simply bring in a few extra dollars. Lake's Awendaw Farms range has been put together with one intention in mind - to help save struggling farms across North America.

Lake has made it clear that he and his team will not be receiving a penny from the new Awendaw Farms collection. Rather, all proceeds will be going towards aiding farms and farmers.

In a heartfelt video shared across his socials, the ‘Gratitude’ chart-topper explains why he and his wife Brittany felt compelled to use this unique chance to help their fellow farmers. Lake and his family bought a farm in Awendaw, South Carolina a few years ago, with the Contemporary Christian Music trailblazer regularly sharing updates of him and his crew looking after the animals. While we shouldn't pick favourites between Lake's dogs, cattle, pigs and more, we have to admit we've well and truly fallen in love with his adorable miniature donkeys.

In the video, Lake shares how the Awendaw Farms merchandise that he would often be seen wearing was initially made as a thank-you gift to the crew after he finished his tour. But then, fans started enquiring about the tees, caps and hoodies, and the ‘As For Me & My Home’ crooner realised this could be a God-sent opportunity.

Lake passionately underlines to his followers how severe the current situation is for his fellow farmers in the US, stressing, “Farms are dying...We want to be an answer for that”.

In a separate post, Lake movingly reflects on the Awendaw Farms journey so far, “Ever since y’all got a glimpse of this custom merch, you’ve been begging for it… And I’m excited to announce it’s officially dropping on 10/23. What started as a few custom pieces to gift our crew after the King of Hearts Tour, quickly snowballed as you wanted to buy it and that led to Brittany and I dreaming of how we could use these items to give back to local farmers right here in our community”.

The ‘How Good God Is’ singer-songwriter candidly goes on, “Awendaw Farms has changed our lives. We’re raising beef to feed our family and friends and enjoying our miniature donkeys, pig, and two horses… but it has also been challenging at times too. Life on the farm has brought us some of our greatest joys, but it has also taught us firsthand about loss. There are days that make us wonder why we ever chose this life, followed by days that remind us exactly why we did”.

Lake concludes his message, “There is something special about knowing where your food came from, knowing the land it was raised on, the hands that cared for it, and the life that ultimately provides for another family. That’s why 100% of proceeds from this drop and every drop in the future will go straight to local farmers”.

It's no secret that it's harder than ever to be a farmer in the US, with a reported 200,000 row crop farms being forced to close since 2020. US farm debt is projected to surpass $600 billion this year, with farmers facing surging operational costs and plummeting commodity prices. Many farmers find themselves in the strange and frustrating situation of being asset-rich, due to the value of the farm, but unable to sustain the day-to-day costs of running a farm in 2026.

Lake has always made a point of using his music and platform as a force for good, with his discography and live shows underpinned by a message of love and hope through Jesus.

As Lake continues his foray into the country music world, following stellar collaborations with Lainey Wilson, Cody Johnson, Bailey Zimmerman, Gabby Barrett and more, the Awendaw Farms Drop 001 is a reminder that, although he has made his name in the Contemporary Christian Music space, at his heart, Lake is a country boy.

His latest single, ‘Changing’, captures this essence, with Lake emphasising that faith will always be the main fuel for his message, but that doesn't mean he can't also celebrate his country roots and his love for that lifestyle through his songwriting, too.

With Lake teasing an array of new unreleased songs via social media last week, including another beautiful Lainey duet, ‘The Voice Of Jesus’, it seems his new country-Christian album is on the horizon. And when he hopefully unveils a 2027 tour to go with it, he'll be able to look out with pride as he sees swathes of fans in the audience donning Awendaw Farms merch, knowing that every single one of them has - in his words - “their fingerprints on blessing other farms and farmers”.

There's a lot of virtue-signalling in today's social media-driven world. But it's safe to say that what Lake is doing through Awendaw Farms epitomises the warm-hearted spirit of generosity and compassion that he has carried with him throughout his career.

As other artists like Willie Nelson, Luke Bryan and HARDY - who features on Lake's keenly anticipated new song, ‘Bones and Boots’ - look to shine a light on the struggles of farmers in a modern landscape, hopefully country music is able to help offer a boost to a way of life that has inspired so many wonderful songs over the years.
