This past Thursday (Nov. 28) was certainly a day to give thanks when Billy Strings stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
For a special Thanksgiving showcase, the star took to the late night television stage to perform 'Seven Weeks In County', a searing new song from his latest album, Highway Prayers.
In Strings fashion, the display was controlled but impressive, a perfect example of the artist's skills as both an instrumentalist and storyteller as he and his band rattled off the ominous tune.
The artist's late September release, Highway Prayers, marked the follow-up to Strings' 2021 studio release, Renewal, and its third single, 'Seven Weeks In County', became an instant hit. Overall, the new 20-track progressive bluegrass project is a triumph, one Holler dubbed "a gorgeous extension of the artist’s work in shaping bluegrass for a modern audience" upon its release.
The Thanksgiving performance arrived not long after Strings received a Grammy nomination for his recent live collection, Live Vol. 1, and shortly after the artist released a trio of collaborations with Zach Top.
