Ashley Cooke's much-loved single, ‘your place’, has returned to the pinnacle of the UK Country Radio Airplay chart, garnering an impressive 687, 818 impressions for the tracking period dated from Friday, May 10th to Thursday, May 16th 2024.
The slow-burning post-break-up ballad first surged to No. 1 two weeks ago, before being usurped by Sam Hunt's ‘Outskirts’ on last week's UK Country Radio Airplay chart.
Now, however, Ashley Cooke is back in pole position, with Chris Young's ‘Young Love & Saturday Nights’ hot on her heels at No. 2. Sam Hunt has to settle for third place during this frame, with ‘Outskirts’ dropping to No. 3. The Top 5 is completed by Post Malone and Morgan Wallen's blockbuster new duet, ‘I Had Some Help’, which debuts at No. 4, and Nate Smith's latest single, the fiery ‘Bulletproof’, at No. 5.
Given how the immensely popular ‘I Had Some Help’ has jumped right in at such a lofty position, it seems likely Post Malone and Morgan Wallen's playful, uptempo collaboration, which is set to appear on Posty's forthcoming country album, will be a leading candidate for next week's UK Country Radio Airplay chart No. 1.
Aside from the debuts, the biggest increase in impressions this week was earned by Dylan Scott's ‘What He'll Never Have’, which racked up a whopping 165% boost to slot in at No. 36 - a sizeable ascent, given the track sat at No. 74 last week.
Nonetheless, it's Ashley Cooke who deserves the biggest plaudits, with the fast-emerging Big Loud signee continuing to establish herself as one of the future stars of country music.
The Floridian singer-songwriter, who dropped her acclaimed debut full-length album, shot in the dark, last year, recently picked up her first ever ACM Awards nomination for 2024 New Female of the Year, and this chart milestone will undoubtedly add another jolt of momentum as she readies her follow-up record.
