As Ashley Cooke continues to hone her eagerly anticipated debut album, which is expected to be released later in 2023, the fast-emerging singer-songwriter has shared a brand new song snippet that fans are hoping will feature on the project.
The new track, ‘Enough To Leave’, finds Cooke exploring the murky, confusing limbo that often comes after a break-up, where it's unclear as to who was right and who was wrong.
It's a slow-burning, vulnerable ballad that gives Ashley Cooke the space to showcase her vocal dexterity, along with the direct, easy-going lyrical style she has become known for.
In the comments section of the video, which she shared across her social channels, the Floridian prodigy teased fans by asking, “Should I put this on the album?”
Unsurprisingly, her followers leapt to the affirmative, with listeners clamouring for the unreleased song to be made available on streaming platforms sooner rather than later.
The teaser for ‘Enough To Leave’ follows soon after Cooke shared a snippet of another unreleased track, ‘It Ain't Your Place’, which again delves into the troubling aftermath of a toxic relationship.
Ashley Cooke's upcoming album will serve as the keenly awaited follow-up to her celebrated 2021 project, Already Drank That Beer, which featured an array of tracks that quickly became fan-favourites, such as the Brett Young-assisted ‘Never Til Now’.
Cooke is currently out on the road in support of Young, with a lengthy line-up of shows planned across the next few months in states such as California, Michigan, Illinois and Colorado.
Ashley Cooke is also set to perform at a number of high-profile summer festivals, including CMA Fest, Bonnaroo, Tailgate N’ Tallboys Bloomington and more.
