Everything you need to know about this joyful, laid-back song from Ella Langley's 2026 studio album, ‘Dandelion’.
One of the more carefree and playful offerings on Ella Langley's sophomore album, Dandelion, ‘You & Me Time’ is a refreshingly light-hearted snapshot into a relationship.
It finds the narrator lamenting how they've been struggling to find enough space in their hectic schedules to spend quality moments with one another of late. Across this joyful, summery ode, Langley outlines how she plans to make up for lost time.
‘You & Me Time’ carries a lovely sense of levity throughout the narrative, and this is reflected in the bright, almost beach-country-esque composition. Langley laces an easy, laidback feel into her vocal delivery, while Dave Cohen and Spencer Cullum help to keep things light through the Hammond A100 and pedal steel respectively.
Keep an ear out from the second chorus for backing vocals from Langley's co-writers Joybeth Taylor and Aaron Raitiere, along with co-producers Ben West and Miranda Lambert.
The message of ‘You & Me Time’ is clear throughout - the narrator and her partner have been running around trying to keep up with their chaotic calendars, which has meant they've grown a little distant. Today, though, they're making amends, with Langley detailing the ways in which she wants to reconnect with her lover.
There's a charming sense of simplicity that foreshadows ‘Somethin’ Simple’ on Dandelion, where Langley reaches the realisation that the bright stadium lights and chart-topping hits aren't where true happiness lies - rather, it's in the little things. On ‘You & Me Time’, Langley creates this sense of easy, no-frills romance when she describes how they can enjoy some red wine out of coffee cups. It might not be high-brow and fancy, but if they're together, then that's all that matters.
“I’ve been real busy boy
You’ve been real busy too
Letting that calendar slip
That ain’t no good excuse
So whatcha say we make
A little get away
Take us a few days off 'cause
-
I really wanna hold ya
Really get to know ya
God I gotta couple things
I really wanna show ya
Don't it sound amazing
Both of us just laying
Around all day I guess
All I'm really trying to say is
-
You and me could use just
A little bit of me and you time
You and me could use just
A little bit of me and you time
-
Let’s turn the lights down
Light some candles up
Put a little bit of red wine in a coffee cup
Put a record on
Take a layer off
Let the loving let us get lost
-
’Cause I really wanna hold ya
Really get to know ya
God I gotta couple things
I really gotta show ya
Don’t it sound amazing
Both of us just laying
Around all day I guess
All I’m really trying say is
-
You and me could use just
A little bit of me and you time (just a little me and you time)
You and me could use just
A little bit of me and you time (just a little me and you time)
-
Yeah it’s raining outside
You and me could use just
A little bit of me and you time (just a little me and you time)
You and me could use just
A little bit of me and you time (just a little me and you time)
You and me could use just
A little bit of me and you time (just a little me and you time)
-
You and me
Me and you
Just a little bit of us time
-
I really wanna hold ya
Really get to know ya
God I gotta couple things
I really gotta show ya
Don’t it sound amazing
Both of us just laying
Around all day I guess
All I’m really trying say is
-
You and me could use just
A little bit of me and you time (just a little me and you time)
-
Are you thinking what I’m thinking
I think you’re thinking what I’m thinking
Said are you thinking what I’m thinking
I know you’re thinking what I’m thinking
I'm thinking”
