Gavin Adcock continued his hot streak of singles from his 2026 album, The Day I Hang It Up, with ‘Anymore’, which followed the likes of ‘Shoes’, ‘Having One Now’ and ‘Workin’ Man’.

It sees Adcock exploring the fresh wound of a break-up, as the ‘Cheap Thrills’ crooner dives deeper into his vices as he desperately attempts to pull his mind away from his old flame.

The stormy, ominous ambience of ‘Anymore’ mirrors the mood of the narrative, with Adcock's deep, charismatic vocals drifting across the dark, dramatic electric guitars. Adcock's guttural, raspy delivery conveys how jaded the protagonist has grown as he wrestles with his thoughts and does his best to get over the break-up. The composition only intensifies as the track progresses, with Adcock trying to convince the listener - and himself - that he no longer thinks about her.

Over the course of ‘Anymore’, we follow a protagonist who is struggling to get over his ex. He finds himself overthinking every little text that he receives from her, as well as chastising himself for replying, before attempting to drown his anguish in a bottle of Jack.

As he dives deeper into this hole of despair, he has a light-bulb moment, where he realises that this is not what he thought ‘love’ would be - hinting that he is realising this toxic relationship just wasn't meant to be. In the hook, he boldly declares that he no longer thinks about his ex or all the mistakes he's made since the break-up.

However, this feels more like an attempt to talk himself into this being true, as the fact that he is thinking this after a “sleepless night”, “another 3am bottle in my bed” and “another dumbass text that I can't ignore” makes it seem that he is still not quite over her.

Via socials, Adcock touched on the inspiration behind his brooding single, “‘Anymore’ is about all those sleepless nights, the texts you know you shouldn’t send and getting way too deep in your own damn head when a relationship goes south. You find out a lot about yourself – and the vices you didn’t know you had – once it’s all said and done. If you like ‘Deep End’ and ‘Run Your Mouth,’ I think you’re gonna love this one. Sometimes the only way out is to quit thinking about it anymore”.
