When one of your friends tells you she’s seen your man messing around with another woman behind your back there are two things you can do; once you’ve dumped the pathetic two-timing jack wagon that is.
You can mope around in your pyjamas in front of the telly with a bottle of Baileys and a Bridget Jones’ Diary boxset, feeling sorry for yourself or… you can call up all your girlfriends, get dolled up and go out on the town to get over him in style!
That’s exactly what sister duo Presley & Taylor decide to do in the video for their latest single, ‘Honky Tonk Girl’. Released last week, it’s a blast of dancefloor friendly country pop that sounds as explosively joyous and life-affirming as ‘Girls Just Wanna Have Fun’ or ‘Single Ladies’.
And now it has a suitably evocative video to go with it, bringing the girls’ night out they’re singing about to life with bright lights and glitter curtains and line dancing cowboys.
“Creating the Honky Tonk Girl music video was an unforgettable day that was just as fun as the song itself,” Presley & Taylor told us. “We cannot thank the incredibly talented team of women who helped us bring this concept to life enough. We hope everyone loves the video as much as we loved making it! A very special thank you to all of the dancers, friends, and extras for being a part of the video!”
The video for ‘Honky Tonk Girl’ is premiering exclusively at Holler below
Growing up in a small town in Connecticut, the sisters were surrounded by music from a very early age, and they’ve been making their mark on Nashville ever since pulling up into town playing shows opening up for everyone from Old Dominion to Martina McBride and Sammy Kershaw, including performing with Pam Tillis at the Grand Ole Opry and CMA Fest stages several years in a row.
Written by songwriting legends Jessie James Decker, Emily Weisband (Keith Urban, Lady A, Noah Cyrus) and Andrew De Roberts, ‘Honky Tonk Girl’ is taken from Presley & Taylor’s latest EP, Limited Edition (Side A). With their tight-knit family harmonies, knack for blending genres, and an eye on future country stardom, the sky’s the limit for the hardworking sister duo. We expect they’ll be putting a little time aside for partying along the way too.
The Limited Edition (Side A) EP is out now on White Mustang Records.
