"Everybody deserves their own Patsy Cline." So said Loretta Lynn of her friendship with her fellow singer, crediting Cline for instilling the faith and strength that forever changed her as a person.

Patsy and Loretta may have departed, but the trail they blazed for women in country music, and the bonds of female friendship, has not. In fact, female friendship and solidarity has always kept the world turning, but we'll take any opportunity, formal or informal, to celebrate it.

Galentine's Day, marked on 13th February, is a chance to do just that.
