One of the biggest country songs of recent times has been Ernest and Morgan Wallen’s Flower Shops, a song about a man trying to fix a broken relationship with flowers.

"I wrote it with Ben Burgess and Mark Holman after being on a George Jones and sad country song kick,” Ernest says about writing the song. “I didn't have a hard time going there because I know damn well what it's like to run out of apologies, and though flowers aren't ever going to fix it, it's just about all you can do sometimes."

Ernest and Morgan Wallen weren’t the first country singers to have found inspiration in the blossoms of nature’s perennials, and along with Miley Cyrus's 'Flowers' it seems like they're as popular as ever. Everyone from Lynn Anderson to Laura Cantrell has found something to sing about growing in the garden come summertime.
