On top of an already stunning night at the 2023 CMT Music Awards, frontrunner Lainey Wilson brought her picturesque single, 'Heart Like A Truck', to the Moody Center stage, shortly after the tune was named the No. 1 song at Country Radio as of April 2.
The follow-up to her No. 1 Gold-certified single 'Things A Man Oughta Know,' the latest offering from the Louisiana native is drenched in southern simplicity at its finest.
Telling the tale of a heart meant for running (or in this case driving), Lainey Wilson effortlessly captured the audience's attention.
Decked out in her signature bell-bottom pants and backed up by 70s-inspired production, Wilson delivered a pitch perfect rendition of the slow-building burner.
Pacing its way to the final chorus, Wilson let it all loose to show off her gritty high-flying vocals.
'Heart Like A Truck,' which spent 47 weeks climbing the country charts, can be found on Wilson's highly acclaimed 2022 album, Bell Bottom Country.
She celebrated the much-anticipated release by embarking on her own headlining “Country With a Flare Tour,” which took her all across the U.S. for the first quarter of 2023.
Similarly to the 2022 ACM Awards, Wilson led the pack at this year's CMT honours with four nominations across the show's seven possible categories.
In addition to 'Heart Like A Truck,' which went on to win Female Video of the Year, she could also be found alongside Hardy for Collaborative Video of the Year, which they won earlier in the night, and the highest honour of Video of the Year.
In addition, Wilson received a nod for CMT Performance of the Year with Cole Swindell for 'Never Say Never' (from the 2022 CMT Music Awards).
Wilson enjoyed a breakthrough year in 2022, which saw her earning a role in the blockbuster show Yellowstone, a full slate of touring slots, the release of her sophomore album and a suite of awards and nominations, among a long list of other achievements.
However, 2023 is revving up for the songstress as she's already taken the UK by storm with her C2C performance last month and is currently direct support on Luke Combs' World Tour.
She will also join Hardy on the fall leg of his "the mockingbird & THE CROW Tour," kicking off in August.
As 'Heart Like A Truck' comfortably sits atop the country charts and as Wilson preps to celebrate her second solo career No. 1, tonight's performance served as a reminder of the full force of Lainey Wilson.
Break out your bell bottoms and buckle up, folks!

But I got places to go, I got people to meet, and I got shit to do” 💥 We couldn’t ❤️ you more @laineywilsonmusic #musictok #laineywilsonmusic #laineywilson #countrymusic ♬ original sound - Holler
