Every year, PBS airs a special National Memorial Day Concert to honor the men and women in the U.S. military who have served - and sacrificed - for their country.

This year, Vince Gill performed a moving tribute. He played 'Go Rest High on That Mountain' for those who have lost their lives, which you can watch below.

The song appears on his 1994 album When Love Finds You - it went on to become CMT's Song of the Year in 1995.

Backed by a piano, Gill sat alone on stage with an acoustic guitar and delivered the lament, which he originally penned about his late brother Bob and country singer Keith Whitley.

Gladys Knight, Mickey Guyton and Alan Jackson also took part in the National Memorial Day Concert.

Later this month, Knight and Guyton will link back up to perform a special duet for the CMT Awards.

Beginning in September, Gill has a series of dates planned across the U.S., including a series of shows at the Ryman Auditorium in December.

Find the full list at his website. His last album Okie came out in 2019.

Charlie Worsham recently told Holler about the special gift he received from Gill at his wedding: a guitar.

That instrument ended up playing a major role in his new single 'Fist [Through This Town]'.
