It's always a special moment when an artist gets to step out onto the famed Fenway Park stage as part of the Nucar Fenway Concert Series presented by Wasabi Technologies. However, for country stalwart Thomas Rhett, it's going to mean just a little bit more come this Saturday (July 19).
Back in July of 2013, when the hallowed park first decided to welcome musical artists into the venue as a tour stop, Rhett was the very first artist to ever grace the Fenway stage as the opener on Jason Aldean's Night Train Tour. While the country hitmaker previously planned to get back to America’s Most Beloved Ballpark in 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic forced a pause on that plan.
Now, nearly a dozen years to the day, Thomas Rhett will be back in the saddle, and this time as the headliner for his sold-out Fenway Park show.
As the proud home to the MLB's Boston Red Sox, the Georgia native is expected to perform for nearly 38,000 fans across the single nights, and he's bringing a formidable trio of openers along for the ride.
With support coming from burgeoning sister trio The Castellows, country-pop crooner Tucker Wetmore and genre-busting behemoth Teddy Swims, we're hoping that Rhett decides to bring them all on stage at some point during the highly-anticipated headline set.
At the tail end of 2024, Rhett enlisted the soulful talents of Teddy Swims for a reimagined version of his standout tune, 'Somethin' 'Bout a Woman.' Having since performed the swaggering duet at award shows and elsewhere, it would be a surprise if the pair of musical titans didn't join forces at this iconic Boston show, especially considering that the evening marks the only stop on the Better In Boots Tour with Swims on the bill.
Meanwhile, Wetmore is a standard on the 2025 run of shows, appearing across all dates. Conveniently, Wetmore and Rhett teamed up just a few months ahead of the tour's start to release their lighthearted 'Small Town Girls.' So far on the cross-country trek, the two hitmakers have been treating audiences to a high-energy rendition of the tune every night, so we suspect the same will be true come Saturday.
On the other hand, The Castellows have been sharing their opening slot with viral sensation Dasha so far throughout the summer. Now that they're back on the bill, we anticipate that the Georgia girls will be hitting the stage with Rhett for a lively cover of Cole Swindell's 'She Had Me At Heads Carolina.' The cover has been a highlight moment across the Better In Boots Tour thus far, providing a moment of utter glee during the delightful singalong.
So far during his 2025 shows, Rhett hasn't been switching up his setlist from night to night too terribly much, treating audiences to a plethora of stand-outs from his 2024 album, About A Woman, such as ‘Beautiful As You,' 'After All the Bars Are Closed,' 'Boots' and 'Gone Country.'
Ever the entertainer, you can look forward to hearing some of the many hits from across Rhett's glowing career when he storms into Fenway Park this weekend, with the country trailblazer regularly performing chart-topping tunes like 'Make Me Wanna,' 'Die A Happy Man,' 'Life Changes,' 'Half of Me,' 'Craving You,' 'Marry Me' and so many more.
Merch-wise, there are a slew of exciting new items that have been launched in tandem with Rhett's 2025 tour, including an array of stylish t-shirts, hats, tote bags, tanks, sweatshirts and more.
Although set times are subject to change, Rhett tends to begin his rip-roaring set around 9:20pm. Doors to the venue are due to open at 4:30pm, with The Castellows expected to kick off the evening's performances around 5:30pm.
Parking around Fenway Park is extremely limited, with organizers strongly encouraging attendees to utilize the city's extensive public transportation offerings. The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) provides numerous ways for fans to get to Fenway, with full information available here.
As for the bag policy, any bags taken into the venue–clear or otherwise–must be single-compartment and no larger than 12" x 12" x 6". Backpacks, backpack-style purses, duffel bags and other multi-compartment bags are not permitted with the exception of diaper bags and bags containing essential medical equipment. For the full specifications and a list of items that are prohibited, see here.
Finally, and most importantly, have fun! It's going to be a truly special evening at one of the oldest and most revered venues in the country and we're willing to bet that Thomas Rhett will have a surprise or two up his sleeve to ring in the occasion.
