Having dominated the US charts and touring market for much of the past two years, Morgan Wallen is now - excitingly - once again turning his attention across The Pond.
Following an explosive performance at London's BST Hyde Park festival in July - the largest UK country concert of its kind - Morgan is continuing the momentum as he launches the European leg of his blockbuster 2024 One Night At A Time tour.
The ‘Last Night’ hitmaker is kicking off this run of shows in Stockholm, Sweden - a fitting location for the first stop on this leg, given the city's musically rich and vibrant history.
Morgan Wallen will be performing at Stockholm's Strawberry Arena - which was recently renamed from the ‘Friends Arena’, due to a change in sponsorship - on August 28.
Morgan will be joined by his Big Loud label-mates, Larry Fleet and Lauren Watkin,s as his openers, and we suspect he might bring out Larry during his headline set. The two have linked up in the past two deliver soul-stirring renditions of Larry's faith-filled ballad, ‘Where I Find God’, and Morgan's ’Man Made A Bar’.
The latter was co-written by Larry Fleet and appears on Morgan Wallen's record-breaking 2023 album, One Thing At A Time, as a duet with Eric Church, with ‘Man Made A Bar’ becoming Morgan's 12th US Country Radio chart-topper in April.
Given the fact that this is the first of Morgan Wallen's 2024 European One Night At A Time shows, the set times and setlist are a little up-in-the-air. Nonetheless, judging by his BST Hyde Park set and his recent shows in the States, we can be confident Morgan will perform all his biggest hits, from ‘Whiskey Glasses’ and ‘The Way I Talk’ to newer fan-favourites such as ‘You Proof’ and ‘Ain't That Some’. Thankfully, Morgan Wallen's colossal Post Malone collaboration, ‘I Had Some Help’, appears to have become a mainstay in his expansive 2024 setlist of late, as has his latest single, the brooding, sinuous ‘Lies, Lies, Lies’.
Based on previous shows, Morgan Wallen tends to take the stage at around 9pm, with the genre-blending country megastar delivering a raucous, high-energy performance until 11pm. Doors to the Strawberry Arena open at 5:30pm, with the first support act - Lauren Watkins - expected to perform at roughly 7pm.
Crucially, although some venues allow small, clear bags in venues, Stockholm's Strawberry Arena is operating a strict Bag Ban Policy, with zero bags allowed into the event.
The organisers strongly advise against travelling to the venue by car, as queues will be highly likely. Instead, you can use the subway and get off at Solna Centrum, which is an 18 minute walk from the Strawberry Arena, or Näckrosen, a 15 minute walk away.
Once you're inside, there will be an array of food and drink choices at your disposal, including the Bistro Bar, serving hamburgers, cocktails and (virtually) everything in-between, as well as a slew of standard bars and kiosks, providing pizza, hot dogs and more.
A new leg of the tour may mean a brand new range of merch - but even if it's the same collection we've been seeing throughout Morgan Wallen's 2024 One Night At A Time tour, it's safe to say there's still plenty of great options to choose from.
His green, varsity-themed hoodie has been a big hit with fans, as has his standard black and red photo tee, and we imagine both will be on-sale at the Strawberry Arena.
Regardless of which songs he plays and who - if anyone - he decides to bring out with him for his iconic pre-show walkout, Morgan Wallen's Stockholm, Sweden show will be an electric affair. Each member of the packed-out crowd is truly in for a treat.
