Encore:
One more show until the cowboy rides away. George Strait is readying for the final showcase in his blockbuster run of performances alongside Chris Stapleton.
Taking over the Los Angeles area's SoFi Stadium on Saturday (July 19), the legendary hitmaker, alongside Stapleton and Little Big Town, is eager to turn the massive arena into one big, honky-tonkin' affair.
While the Strait-Stapleton performances were only meant to be a short-lived endeavor in 2024, the dates extended into 2025 by popular demand. Ultimately, the icon couldn't resist returning for more shows, explaining to fans, “I keep trying to slow down a bit but you keep calling me back. Please don’t ever stop. I still love it just as much as I always have”.
This last show marks the extended run's only West Coast outing, and Strait seems more than prepared to give it his all.
If the SoFi showcase is anything like his previous East Coast dates, fans should expect hits galore. The artist will be pulling from decades-worth of material, gifting fans with time-worn classics, like 'Check Yes or No', 'I Can Still Make Cheyenne', 'Ocean Front Property', 'The Chair' and 'Give It Away'.
He will also surely bring Stapleton out for a few duets. In the past, they've performed 'Cowboys Like Us', 'You Don't Know What You're Missing', as well as their 2024 collaboration, 'Honky Tonk Hall of Fame', which appeared on Strait's Cowboys and Dreamers release.
Other songs from that collection will likely make appearances in the set, the artist often pulling out newer tunes like 'Three Drinks Behind', 'MIA Down in MIA' and more.
The action will be kicking off earlier in the day, with doors opening at 4:30 p.m. and performances from Little Big Town expected to start at 5:45 p.m. Stapleton usually takes the stage around 7:20 p.m., with the man of the hour taking the spotlight around 9:15 p.m.
With a near-three-dozen-song setlist potentially on his agenda, get ready to get your money's worth.
As you prepare for what is undoubtedly set to be another stellar showcase from the hitmaker, make sure you know before you go. As is the case with many event spaces, the stadium is a cashless venue. The location also adheres to a clear bag policy, allowing bags that are 12" x 6" x 12" or less in size.
Parking lots open at 3:00 p.m. If driving, prepaid parking is an option on the venue's website.
