As the excitement continues to build ahead of his new album, Ain't My Last Rodeo, Riley Green spoke to Holler about the chances of him heading across The Pond for a UK tour, along with the prospect of embarking on a full European or Australian run of shows.
The ‘Different ‘Round Here’ songsmith has established himself as one of the primary flag-bearers for a traditional-leaning, lifestyle-oriented brand of country, with Riley's music often being firmly rooted in the ideals and surroundings of his home-state of Alabama.
Despite this seemingly narrowing his listenership to the US, many throughout the UK, Europe and Australia utilise Riley Green's down-home-inspired discography as a form of escapism.
With his popularity continuing to explode following high-profile supporting slots on Luke Combs and Morgan Wallen's tours, and this continues to surge in the lead-up to Riley's new album.
In a conversation with Holler, Riley Green implied that he originally planned to travel across The Pond a few years ago, but this was postponed as a result of the pandemic. Riley outlined, “Yeah, we kind of had a game plan, you know, before 2020 hit and obviously everything got put on hold and pushed back. We did the tour with Luke Combs this year and it was awesome to go play stadiums”.
The man affectionately known by his fans as ‘Duckman’ went on to emphasise that his team are looking to broaden their touring horizons “in the next year or so”.
Riley Green explained, “We've done a lot in Canada in the last couple of years, so I think we're gradually making our circle a little bigger, and hopefully in the next year or so we'll be able to get over there and hang out with y'all, as well as doing Australia”.
With Riley Green due to head out on his Ain't My Last Rodeo US tour in 2024, we'll be keenly awaiting news of international dates. One thing's for certain, Riley is just as keen as we are for additional legs to be added to next year's run, “I'm just really looking forward to being in front of some brand new fans we've never played in front of before”.
