Charles Wesley Godwin has treated fans to a special acoustic rendition of ‘Dance in Rain’, one of the many stand-outs from his acclaimed 2023 album, Family Ties.
The sweet, endearing ballad is a heartfelt tribute to Charles’ daughter, with the West Virginia native gently encouraging her to find joy in the small, unassuming moments life throws her way.
Perched on the back of his truck, Charles croons warmly, “Walk with words from your old man / When I'm part of this land / Hope you remember now and then / To dance in the rain”.
The acoustic version brings a new sense of intimacy and vulnerability to the deeply personal track, with the sparse instrumentation accentuating Charles Wesley Godwin's evocative lyricism.
Following the release of this new ‘Dance in Rain’ video, listeners are hoping the alt-country crooner delivers acoustic performances of other much-loved songs from Family Ties.
The project dropped on September 22, and has spawned fan-favourites such as ‘The Flood’, ‘Cue Country Roads’, ‘Miner Imperfections’, ‘West of Lonesome’ and more.
