Zach John King has cancelled the next two weeks of his shows to grieve the sudden loss of his father, John King.

“John King was the kind of husband, father, grandfather, friend, and follower of Jesus you’ll only find once in a lifetime,” the ‘Slow Down’ singer shared in a poignant social media post.

The announcement comes after his father passed away suddenly on Friday, July 10th. King shared, “In the literal blink of an eye Friday, he was home with Jesus where his soul longed to be”.

Country music friends have been quick to support the up and comer, with the comments section flooded with condolences and support.

“You’ll forever be doing right by him bro. He got to see you scratch the surface of the greatness you’re about to experience…” Brandon Wisham shared, with Emily Ann Roberts adding, “I’m so sorry buddy :( we’re praying for you!!!”. A plethora of artists including Graham Barham, Ashley Cooke, Conner Smith, Chandler Walters and Caylee Hammack have also added their love and best wishes for the singer and his family.

King was due to perform at a series of fairs and festivals, including opening for Riley Green’s Cowboy As It Gets Tour and Luke Bryan’s Word On The Street Tour. All shows have been cancelled for the next two weeks, but King is confident he'll be back on stage soon: “After that, imma do what my dad would want me to do and get back to work.”

King closed his post with a heartfelt message. “I’ll leave ya’ll with what he said every morning even when I didn’t want to hear it… ‘today is the day the Lord has made I will rejoice and be glad in it’. I love you dad. I’ll see you soon.”
