Zach Bryan has continued his prolific streak of unreleased teasers and snippets by sharing a brand new song, ‘Tradesman’.
The clip was recorded during Zach's 2023 tour, with the chart-topping singer-songwriter performing the unreleased demo during a soundcheck ahead of one of his recent European shows.
‘Tradesman’ carries the wistful, reflective tone that Zach Bryan’s fiercely loyal fanbase have come to know and love, and listeners are already pleading with the Oklahoma native to give the song an official release.
On the new ballad, Zach forlornly wonders what life would be like if he were a ‘tradesman’ playing his songs away from the spotlight, as he laments the uncomfortable glare that inevitably accompanies this (“Everyone lately's scaring me / It's all back-door jeans and therapy / And the only callous I've grown is in my mind”).
Although fans are hoping ‘Tradesman’ will make the cut for Zach Bryan's eagerly anticipated follow-up record to 2022's American Heartbreak, it seems the song will have plenty of competition when it comes to narrowing down the tracklist.
In a new tweet, Zach revealed that the upcoming album, Writers and Fighters, will only be eleven tracks long - a drastic reduction compared to the 34-song tracklist of American Heartbreak. The ‘Something in the Orange’ hitmaker joked, “I'm in my quality over quantity era”.
Other recent unreleased song teasers include ‘Fine Dry’, ‘Smaller Acts’ and ‘Fear and Fridays’, the latter of which has occasionally made its way into Zach Bryan's 2023 tour setlist.
As well as sharing the ‘Tradesman’ clip and continuing his tour across Europe, Zach Bryan also found time to share the official music video for his much-loved 2022 song, ‘Oklahoma Smokeshow’.
