Adorned in a crisp blue suit in honour of the spectacular occasion, Zach Bryan ensured the final tour-stop of his momentous Quittin’ Time run was given an added sheen of lustre and import, as the Oklahoma crooner reeled off his array of rugged, introspected anthems.
One of the undoubted highlights of the ‘Something in the Orange’ hitmaker's Barclays Center double-header was the live debut of his much-loved recent single, ‘High Road’.
It felt particularly apt that Zach Bryan had been saving this intricate, serpentine offering for the Big Apple, given the fact that the lyrics draw inspiration from Bryan's memories in the city.
As the crowd greeted the opening guitar riff for ’High Road’ with a sea of jubilant cheers and screams, Zach Bryan warmly crooned, “Adderall and white-lace bras that makes you fall in love / You left your blue jeans in my pickup truck / New York this time of year ain't good for me / 'Cause all my friends lack self-control and empathy”.
Shortly after the spellbinding performance, which also featured fan-favourites such as ’Open the Gate’, ‘East Side of Sorrow’, ‘Pink Skies’ and ‘Heading South’, Zach Bryan surprised his loyal listenership by dropping a brand new live album, 24 (Live) to streaming platforms.
Containing a slew of guest appearances from the likes of Kacey Musgraves, John Mayer, The War and Treaty and Maggie Rogers, 24 (Live) consists of recordings captured throughout Zach Bryan's sprawling, expansive 2024 Quittin‘ Time tour.
