We suspected Zach Bryan might have something special in store for his triple-header in his home-state of Oklahoma - but we didn't imagine it would arrive courtesy of a fan.
Zach Bryan has made an endearing habit of inviting hopeful singer-songwriters - often taken directly from the audience - on-stage to perform one of his earliest hits, ’Heading South’.
At the BOK Center in Oklahoma, the ‘Revival’ hitmaker aptly brought up a local Tulsa man up for the keenly anticipated ‘Heading South’ portion of his sprawling, rip-roaring set.
As was perhaps to be expected, with the man hailing from the same roots as Zach Bryan, he delivered a spellbinding rendition of the rugged, introspective hit, with a number of fans already taking to TikTok to express their disbelief at how impressive he was.
Elsewhere during the ‘Something in the Orange’ crooner's keenly awaited opening night in Tulsa, fans lapped up his high-energy renditions of home-state-inspired anthems such as ’Oklahoma Smokeshow’, with the entire show carrying an extra sheen of lustre as Zach Bryan regularly gazed around the packed-out venue with awe.
On the same night, although he was not present for the ceremony, Zach Bryan received five Billboard Music Awards, including Top Country Touring Artist, Top Rock Artist, Top Country Album (for 2023's self-titled album, Zach Bryan), Top Streaming Song and Top Rock Song (both for ‘I Remember Everything’ with Kacey Musgraves).
Zach Bryan returns to the BOK Center tonight (Friday, December 13th) and tomorrow (Saturday, December 14th), before playing the final two shows of his 2024 Quittin’ Time tour in Brooklyn, New York next week. Zach has confirmed he will not be touring in the same way in 2025, with a smattering of isolated concerts and performances lined up, including two dates at London's BST Hyde Park festival in June.
