Wyatt Flores has been named among the year's top rising talent by Apple Music. The streaming giant has included the 'West of Tulsa' star in its Up Next Class of 2024.

While the only country act in the class, he's in good company, joined by alt-hip hop newcomer Teezo Touchdown, rising Latin trap sensation Young Miko, R&B singer 4batz, hip-hop star Karan Aujla, as well as trap and drill artist Cash Cobain.

"I was constantly around music," he tells Apple of his journey, "and just knowing whatever happens in this world, if there's a piece of wood with six strings on it, I'm still gonna end up playing it."

It's been a big year for Flores. The last few months have seen the Oklahoma-bred newcomer make his Grand Ole Opry debut, release his Half Life EP and subsequent full-length debut album, Welcome to the Plains. Along the way, he's conquered a lengthy headline tour, graced a number of festival rosters and officially staked his claim on country music as one to watch.

He took a moment to reflect of his whirlwind year, explaining to Holler the realities of dreams coming true. “It's really difficult, even these days, but eventually you kind of sink into it and you're like, ‘Oh yeah, this was the dream I had when I was a kid, and this is what's happening now’," he shared. "You just have to take a whole lot of time to process what has happened. I just turned 23, so I'm sitting here trying to figure out who I am. That's what your early 20s are really supposed to be for - at least, that's what they say. Then you get thrown into a situation where you've got to figure this stuff out quickly."

Despite the head-spinning feelings surrounding his newfound success, he offered, "I've been very fortunate and I've had a lot of good people in my corner that have helped me grow ... Things are happening so fast. I'm just grateful that I'm gonna get enough headspace to keep on going with this, because we're still traveling at a speed that doesn't feel real”.
