Though the 2023 festival season is winding down, the announcements for 2024 just keep coming.
The most recent bit of news comes from Windy City Smokeout, which has unveiled that Texas troubadour Cody Johnson has been added as the second headliner for the 2024 festival.
Joining previously announced headliner Thomas Rhett, the festival will take place at Chicago's United Centre Parking Lot from July 11-14.
A celebrated addition to what's promised to be "the best [Smokeout] yet," Johnson will bring his extensive collection of traditional-leaning country tunes to the Windy City in 2024.
Lucky attendees will likely be clamoring to hear some of the hitmakers biggest songs, including his energized, "seize the day" chart-topper, 'Til You Can't', as well as 'Human', 'Dear Rodeo', 'Diamond In My Pocket' and 'On My Way To You'.
By the time he takes the stage in Chicago, fans will have already had several months to sit with his upcoming Leather album, which is set for release on November 3. We can only assume that Johnson will showcase several of the record's tracks, like the already-released 'The Painter', 'Work Boots' and his highly-anticipated collaborations with Carrie Underwood and Jelly Roll.
Windy City Smokeout 2024 is expected to bring a range of big-name country artists to Chicago, with the full line-up yet to be unveiled.
At the 2023 installment, the packed-out crowd witnessed blistering sets from a mix of rising stars and established stadium-fillers, with the likes of Zach Bryan, Luke Bryan, Bailey Zimmerman, Megan Moroney, Darius Rucker and Zac Brown Band all taking the stage.
