Willie Jones performed his single ‘American Dream’, taken from his latest record Right Now, on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon on Monday night.
Poignant and thought-provoking, the song was released after the death of George Floyd last year, and taps into the conversation about the racial inequalities within country music.
Jones' performance was hard hitting, making for a real anthem.
In the background, visuals accompanied the track - images showing Football players taking the knee, as Jones sang “Some people can’t breathe for the flag, had to take a knee for the flag”.
The performance comes just days after Jones made his Grand Ole Opry debut on March 5th.
Jones first rose to fame back in 2012, when he wowed the X Factor judges with his take on the Josh Turner song ‘Your Man’.
Since then, he has been making a name for himself as the hottest newcomer on the country-pop scene.
His cross-over style and impressive vocal range have captivated audiences across the States.
