Ed Sheeran continues his string of country-themed side-quests with a surprise link-up with Noah Kahan at Nashville's much-loved, Christmas-themed Santa's Pub. The duo treated the intimate crowd to an array of stand-outs from their respective catalogues.
It comes a matter of days after the ‘Thinking Out Loud’ singer-songwriter joined Post Malone during his histrionic headline set at Coachella 2025, with the duo delivering a galvanising rendition of Post's double-Diamond-certified anthem, ‘Sunflower’.
At Ed Sheeran's Santa's Pub pop-up, the ‘Shape of You’ crooner teamed up with Noah Kahan to perform a slew of the latter's hits, such as ‘Stick Season’ and ‘All My Love’.
The set was permeated by an endearing sense of warmth and camaraderie, with each artist expressing their admiration for one another. Ed Sheeran and Noah Kahan took it in turns to lead, with Sheeran serenading the packed-out audience with chart-topping earworms such as ‘Thinking Out Loud’, ‘Photograph’ and more.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, given the strength of both Sheeran and Kahan's discographies, virtually every song they reeled off quickly transformed into a bar-wide sing-a-long.
It might be the first time the duo have performed together, but Noah Kahan has paid homage to Ed Sheeran in the past - albeit in a somewhat playful, tongue-in-cheek manner.
In 2022, Noah Kahan dressed up as the British phenom for Halloween, donning himself “the Jewish Ed Sheeran” and performing an acoustic rendition of ‘Thinking Out Loud’.
With Ed Sheeran surprising fans at Nashville's Tootsie's Bar in March, as well as making his debut at the iconic Bluebird Café alongside Megan Moroney, some suspect the genre-blending trailblazer is gearing up to make a foray into country music.
He then stopped by Alex Cooper's Call Her Daddy podcast to declare it's his “end goal” to move back to Nashville and make a country album, similarly to Post Malone last year.
With Ed Sheeran currently in the middle of his Play album rollout, having released the pop-infused lead single, ‘Azizam’, at the start of April, it seems this era won't be country-inspired. However, we're hoping it won't be too long before Sheeran, who has penned hits for the likes of Kenny Chesney, Tim McGraw and Kelsea Ballerini, makes his long-awaited transition to the country music space.
