After we were excited to find that Morgan Wallen and Noah Kahan had seemingly been in the writing room together, it looks like Kahan has distanced himself from this rumour.

Earlier in the week, we reported than a song had appeared on ASCAP, titled, ‘Your Turn’, with the writers listed as Blake Pendergrass, Ryan Vojtesak, Morgan Wallen and Noah Kahan.

Given the fact that Blake Pendergrass and Ryan Vojtesak - otherwise known by his stage-name, Charlie Handsome - are frequent collaborators with Morgan Wallen, we suspected this track had been penned for Wallen's album, rather than Noah Kahan.

However, Noah Kahan's songwriting credit has now been removed from the ‘Your Turn’ ASCAP listing, with the ‘Stick Season’ hitmaker being replaced by ‘Unknown Writer’.

With the tracklist for Morgan Wallen's new album, I'm the Problem, now being revealed, we know there is no Noah Kahan link-up on this, nor is ‘Your Turn’ anywhere to be found.

It's possible that this song has simply been discarded to Wallen's large collection of unreleased tracks. Either way, it looks like Kahan's name was included on the ‘Your Turn’ listing as a mistake - unless this is all part of an elaborate release rollout, designed to keep fans guessing until a blockbuster duet is announced.

Unfortunately, we think this was likely just an error from whoever made the ASCAP entry, albeit a bizarre one. While we would love to one day see Morgan Wallen and Noah Kahan joining forces, it seems fans are a little less certain, with many taking to Instagram to express their relief that we don't appear to be getting a joint track.

We still believe it would be a stellar collaboration, with Morgan Wallen and Noah Kahan's vocal dexterity and their shared penchant for vulnerable, soul-baring lyricism sure to produce magic. If ‘Your Turn’ isn't in fact a co-write, as now seems to be the case, we'll be keeping our fingers crossed this whole furore has inspired the two to hit the studio together in the near future, perhaps for Kahan's next album.
