Country music has always had a soft spot for festive songs, but it feels like this year they've gone a little crazier for Christmas than they usually do even. It's been beginning to look a lot like Christmas around here since late October with fresh holiday hits from Megan Moroney, Mackenzie Carpenter, Emily Zeck, Riley Green and Belle Frantz all blasting out of the office stereo.

Now country pop singer Onoleigh joins the party with her unsurprisingly stunning rendition of 'Please Come Home for Christmas' as the first of four seasonal cover versions released on YouTube in the run up to the holidays.

After the blues singer and pianist Charles Brown had taken it into the festive charts for nine consecutive years from 1961 - eventually reaching the top spot in 1972 - it was 70s rock legends Eagles who took 'Please Come Home for Christmas' on and gave it another new life when they recorded it in 1978. Since then everyone from Jon Bon Jovi and Teddy Swims to Kelly Clarkson and Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings has had a go with varying degrees of success, and now it's the turn of country pop singer Onoleigh to make it her own, reimagining it all over again as a smooth slice of smouldering country soul.

Launching a beautifully curated series of "Classic Christmas" cover videos, we're thrilled to kick off the holiday season with Onoleigh's wonderfully unique cover of 'Please Come Home for Christmas' - premiering exclusively here on Holler! The beautifully styled video combined with her powerhouse vocal captures the magic of the holidays.

"This project allowed me to create and experiment with a more vintage aesthetic by reimagining some classic Christmas songs with more of a soulful feel," Onoleigh told Holler. "I couldn't be more excited with how they turned out!"

Watch 'Please Come Home for Christmas' now below and tune in to her YouTube every Friday until Christmas for more festive favourites!

Hailing from Mahomet, IL, Onoleigh's musical journey began at 16-years-old when she began making regular trips to Nashville and was quickly accepted into the Broadway circuit. Her impressive stage presence and remarkable vocals quickly earned her a reputation and already with over 500,000 streams and a growing social following of 30,000, it won't be long before she's everywhere.

In 2024, the singer travelled to LA for a writing trip with hit-making writer and producer Emile Ghantous (Pitbull, Chris Brown, Boys II Men) and together, they churned out a collection of songs that perfectly encapsulated the sound Onoleigh had been working toward: high-energy, explosive powerhouse country pop production coupled with heartfelt lyrics.

A string of near perfect country pop releases this year - 'Higher Standards,' 'Drink And Cry' and latest single 'OK Later' - are the first taste of what's to come next year from one of pop country's must exciting country voices.
