“A Really, Really Cool Thing”: US Ice Hockey Star Jack Hughes Discusses His Morgan Wallen Walk-Out

US ice hockey star Jack Hughes has revealed that getting to do the walk-out with Morgan Wallen and his brother, Quinn Hughes, at The Big House was the highlight of his summer.

Jack and Quinn, who helped Team USA secure gold at the Winter Olympics, joined the ‘Last Night’ chart-topper for his traditional pre-show walk-out at Michigan Stadium, with around 80,000 fans cheering as their faces flashed up on the JumboTron.

Wallen's pre-show walk-out has become a much loved staple of his live concerts, with the Sneedville native walking from backstage into the stadium as his Lil Durk collaboration, ‘Broadway Girls’, and then ‘Interlude’ plays over the speakers.

While chatting to People, Jack underlines that this walk-out was the top moment of his summer, “I think my number one favourite thing I did was me and Quinn did the walk-out with Morgan Wallen. That was a really, really cool thing we got to be a part of”.

While Jack and Quinn aren't from Ann Arbor, the city has a storied relationship with the US ice hockey team. The National Team Development Program (NTDP) was founded in 1996 and based in Ann Arbor for the best part of two decades, before moving in 2015.

This made their appearance all the more special, with Wallen making a point throughout his 2026 Still the Problem Tour of generally choosing guests that had ties to the local city.

Now, with rumours flying about where Wallen might tour in 2027, and whether he'll finally drop those international dates in Australia, New Zealand, the UK and Europe, we can't wait to see which A-list cameos he'll have up his sleeve for next year's walk-outs.
