Despite having just released his new album, Rustin’ in the Rain, Tyler Childers already has one eye on his next body of work.
During an intimate performance at Grimey's Record Store in Nashville on the eve of his new release, the Kentucky maverick treated attendees to an unreleased song, ‘Cuttin’ Teeth’.
It's unclear whether Tyler Childers plans on releasing the track anytime soon, but with the ‘Percheron Mules’ songsmith having just dropped his new album, we suspect it might be some time before ‘Cuttin’ Teeth’ is made available to stream.
The uptempo, playful song follow in a similar vein to the new album's title-track, with Tyler's distinctive vocals gliding serenely across a jovial, honky-tonk-worthy instrumental.
Before the release of Rustin’ in the Rain, Tyler Childers scattered a series of unreleased tracks throughout his setlists, with the boundary-pushing artist testing out songs such as ‘In Your Love’ and ‘Phone Calls and Emails’, both of which appear on the new record.
Hopefully, he's doing the same with ‘Cuttin’ Teeth’, which could well make its way onto Tyler Childers’ Rustin’ in the Rain follow-up, especially given the unanimously positive reception the unreleased track has been given from fans online.
With Rustin’ in the Rain now out in the world, Tyler will cast his gaze towards the remaining dates he has spaced throughout the year, before gearing up for his hotly anticipated 2024 Mule Pull tour.
