Morgan Wallen has shared a heartfelt video message expressing his gratiutde for fans’ support, after his iHeartRadio Music Awards triumph in the Country Song of the Year category.
The Sneedville hitmaker took home the coveted accolade in honour of his chart-topping Post Malone collaboration, ‘I Had Some Help’, which featured on Post's debut country album, F-1Trillion, alongside link-ups with Luke Combs, Lainey Wilson and more.
‘I Had Some Help’ overcame stiff competition from the other candidates in the hard-fought, fan-voted category, with Morgan Wallen and Post Malone's blockbuster collaboration prevailing over another viral mega-hit, Shaboozey's ’A Bar Song (Tipsy)’.
The remaining nominees included Jelly Roll's ‘I Am Not Okay’, Nate Smith's ’World On Fire’ and another Morgan Wallen duet, this time with ERNEST, ‘Cowgirls’. The trap-infused, Wild West-themed ode appeared on Wallen's record-breaking 2023 album, One Thing At A Time, and hit No. 1 at Country Radio in July 2024.
Addressing the fans that helped him secure the prestigious iHeartRadio Music Award in a pre-recorded video message, Morgan Wallen heartwarmingly touched on how enjoyable the process of writing and crafting ‘I Had Some Help’ with Post Malone was.
Donning his trademark Field & Stream ball-cap, the ‘Love Somebody’ singer-songwriter began by paying tribute to his supporters, “Thank you iHeart, and all the fans out there who loved ‘I Had Some Help’ so much. You helped make this award happen”.
Morgan Wallen expanded by touching on why this track means so much to him, “I had a lot of fun making this song and performing it with Post, so this win is really special. Appreciate y'all”.
The victory arrives shortly after Morgan Wallen teased a new unreleased track, ‘Just in Case’, as well as announcing that his fourth album, I'm the Problem, is “officially done”. Wallen revealed he has “more news” coming this week, and we're keeping our fingers crossed we might be about to get the long-awaited tracklist and release date.
