In their latest of several exciting announcements for The Red Clay Strays, the group has announced that they've inked a global publishing deal with revered publishing house Warner Chappell Music.
This agreement covers the eclectic country rock band, which includes lead singer Brandon Coleman, electric guitarist Zach Rishel, guitarist/vocalist Drew Nix, bassist Andrew Bishop and drummer John Hall, as well as their main co-writer and videographer, Matthew Coleman.
After independently releasing 2022's Moment of Truth, their breakout hit, 'Wondering Why', gained huge attention on TikTok, as well as other streaming services, resulting in the band's first Billboard Hot 100.
With roots dating back to 2016 in Mobile, Alabama, The Red Clay Strays spent years cutting their teeth in the Gulf Coast music scene before their newfound TikTok stardom.
Since the rise of 'Wondering Why', the five-piece have found themselves on a slew of festival bills, including Bonnaroo, Peacemaker Festival, Under the Big Sky, Mile-0 Fest, Lollapalooza and CMA Fest, to name a few. Beyond that – and their own lengthy list of headlining dates – the country outfit has also warmed up stages for acts like Elle King, Dierks Bentley, Eric Church, Kip Moore, Old Crow Medicine Show, Paul Cauthen, Brothers Osborne and more.
“We’re looking forward to partnering with Warner Chappell to expand our songwriting careers and continue putting good music into the world," Matthew Coleman shares.
Warner Chappell VP of A&R, David Goldsen, adds: “Every once in a while a band comes along that knocks you off your feet. The Red Clay Strays is one of the most exciting live bands right now, and their songs are both fresh and timeless. I’m beyond excited to watch their takeover and grateful they’ve chosen us as their publishing partner.”
“The Red Clay Strays are owning their moment in what’s sure to be their biggest year yet," sums Warner Chappell President, North America, Ryan Press. "Their music is pure power and precision, with a sound unlike anything we've heard before. They’ve been consistently locked in with their fans and now they have the whole world tuned into their unique style.”
Since signing their first major record deal with RCA Records earlier this month, The Red Clay Strays have unveiled that they've busy readying their forthcoming record which will be set for release in August.
