This weekend, Taylor Swift treated fans to a special live debut of her Maren Morris collaboration, ‘You All Over Me’, during her recent Eras concert at Soldier Field, Chicago.
One of the many things fans have grown to love about Taylor Swift is her ability to continually dazzle and amaze them. At her recent Nashville show, for instance, Taylor shocked the crowd with news that she was about to release Speak Now (Taylor's Version).
In Chicago, she once again enhanced the spectacle by bringing her close friend and collaborator, Maren Morris, onto the stage for a live performance of ‘You All Over Me’.
The track appeared on Fearless (Taylor's Version), which dropped in 2021 and also featured an appearance from Keith Urban. ‘You All Over Me’ was not included on the original Fearless album, but was added to the re-released 2021 project.
During the traditional ‘surprise segment’ of her show, the country-pop megastar teased Maren Morris’ immanent introduction to the stage, after explaining how the song first came about, “We are so lucky, Chicago, so very lucky, because not only did that artist say yes to sing on that song with me, Maren Morris is actually here!”
After Maren emerged with her guitar in-hand, Taylor emphasised what an honour it had been to work with the ‘My Church’ hitmaker, “She's one of my favourite artists, I just cannot wait to watch everything she does for the rest of her career. Everything she does is so thoughtful and so brilliant. You're one of the best songwriters ever, and you're gonna sing with your beautiful voice for us now”.
As expected, the duo then delivered a faultless rendition of the slow-burning, introspective ballad. Taylor Swift now has a couple of dates lined up across Michigan, before she returns to her home-state of Pennsylvania for two hotly anticipated performances.
With this homecoming undoubtedly due to provide a host of special moments during The Eras tour, fans will be wondering whether Taylor has another surprise or two up her sleeve.
