Come 2025, Sturgill Simpson will be setting his sights across the pond.
The 'Life of Sin' star is bringing his Why Not? Tour to the United Kingdom and Europe from February to March of next year, taking on venues like Glasgow's Barrowland Ballroom, London's Eventim Apollo, Amsterdam's Paradiso, Berlin's Metropol and more throughout the 17-date run.
Kicking off on Feb. 23 in Belfast, the tour will offer fans a chance to experience what the artist has dubbed "An Evening with Sturgill Simpson Featuring Very Special Guest Johnny Blue Skies."
Earlier this year, Simpson traded his government name for his alter ego, Johnny Blue Skies, before embarking on a new era with new music in tow. The product of such a shift can be found on his latest album, Passage Du Desir, an eight-track collection which arrived this past July.
Since kicking off the North American leg of his Why Not? Tour earlier this month, Simpson has been delivering career-spanning and, at moments, surprising sets for fans across the American West.
The tour's opening night last Saturday (Sept. 14) at Los Angeles' Greek Theatre, especially, proved the most eclectic. The show brimmed with Simpson classics, like 'I Don't Mind' and 'Railroad of Sin', as well as Blue Skies' soon-to-be hits, such as 'Mint Tea' and 'Jupiter’s Faerie'. However, the night was also flush with unexpected covers like The Doors' 'L.A. Woman' and 'Red Red Wine' by Neil Diamond. Simpson even closed the show performing Prince's iconic 'Purple Rain'.
So far, the Why Not? Tour has proven to unfold just like that, the entire event a no-rules, anything-goes kind of affair.
Tickets for Sturgill Simpson's upcoming UK and European tour will be available for general on-sale, beginning Friday (Sept. 27) at 10 a.m. local time. Pre-sale starts at 10 a.m. local time on Wednesday, (Sept. 25). Fans can register to buy tickets here.
