Sterling Drake Premieres Timely Tribute to Enduring Love with 'She Means Everything To Me' and Announces Debut Album for May

Dreamers will dream. But beside every great dreamer you'll usually find someone quietly standing at their side through thick and thin, just making sure that dreamer keeps on dreaming.

The woozy countrypolitan of ‘She Means Everything To Me' is perfectly timed for Valentines Day as the singer tips his cowboy hat to a partner who sticks around even when the going gets tough.

"Worst part of losing yourself Is the weight you put on someone else," he sings as a pedal steel softly sighs in nodding agreement.

"‘She Means Everything to Me’ explores personal struggle and the redemptive power of love," says Sterling Drake. "The song is ultimately framed as a conversation with God about the hardships I faced in the early stages of my career and the adoration I felt for a partner who had been a stable figure during a tumultuous time in my life. Navigating this early stage of life can be extremely taxing on a relationship, but if you both weather the storm, it can ultimately create a meaningful love that endures.”

Taken from The Shape I’m In, Sterling Drake’s remarkable debut album, 'She Means Everything to Me' is the first glimpse of a vision that's been building steadily since he released 'Roll the Dice' back in 2021 as it gets blown up large and wide screened to take in all the ups and downs and sideways of a life well lived.

Recorded in Nashville with Grammy-winning Icelandic musician Thorleifur Davidsson, The Shape I’m In finds the singer reflects on purpose and growth, on the journeys that take us away and the revelations that bring us home. The writing is profoundly existential, balancing the emotional and the intellectual in equal measure as it grapples with the sum total of love and heartbreak that make us who we are, and the performances are raw and revealing to match, captured live and direct to tape with an all-star cast of players.

Steeped in the traditions of roots music, the journey of neo-traditionalist country songwriter Sterling Drake has taken him from south Florida to the mountains of western Montana and everywhere in between. After receiving the award for Male Honky Tonk Artist of 2024 at the annual Ameripolitan Awards in Austin Texas last February, the singer didn't rest on that well earned moniker.

“I spent a lot of time studying honky tonk and I cut my teeth playing bars and dance halls,” Drake explains. “I have the utmost respect for that music, and I come to it from a place of deep reverence and understanding.”

His new single, 'She Means Everything to Me,' finds the singer stepping out of the honky tonks for a second to look up at the night sky and soak up the universe with a sonic palette that owes as much to Willie Nelson's '70s albums and Townes Van Zandt as it does Strait and Jones.
